Football - The 20 June match between Cameroon and Gabon in the final phase of the joint qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup/African Cup of Nations may be postponed due to the death of Gabonese President Omar Bongo Ondimba.
Sources close to Cameroon's football federation (FECAFOOT) told PANA here Thursd ay that Gabon has written to world soccer's governing body FIFA to seek a postponement of the tie, scheduled for Libreville, after Gabon declared 30 days of mourning in memory of the late President.
The request, which was also communicated to FECAFOOT, has received a favourable response from Cameroon, the sources said.
Gabon leads group A of the qualifiers with six points after beating Morocco 2-1 in Casablanca and Togo 3-0 in Libreville.
